Lalay Zahra Syed was born on March 17, 1989 in Karachi, Pakistan. She completed her high school and college education in Karachi. The girl who had never gone out of her city, set out to cross oceans and landed in Melbourne for higher education. Zahra completed her Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design degree from Australian Catholic University in April 2016.

For many years Zahra has been interested in art and design, as well as their history and development. Both famous and unknown artists have inspired her to begin on the path of creativity and to develop her skills. She uses different popular techniques and work with different mediums such as; pin-hole photography, drawing, painting, printmaking, etc... Most of her work shows self-expression and, reflect reactions and feelings.
